UPDATE: Crash at Delridge/Trenton

11:14 PM: Avoid Delridge/Trenton – a crash is reported to be blocking the intersection and police have just told dispatch that “one of the parties involved” is getting CPR, but at this early stage they’re “not sure if he was a pedestrian or in a vehicle.”

11:30 PM: Thanks to Corey for the photos. Toward the center of the photo above you can see that one driver went through a fence. We haven’t heard anything further about the status of the person initially reported to be getting CPR.

12:28 AM: Police have just described this over the radio as a suspected case of DUI. Meantime, they’re waiting for an SDOT cleanup crew. whose work will enable the intersection to reopen. And we have an inquiry out to SFD regarding injuries.

1:01 AM: Officers have just told dispatch that the intersection has reopened.

ADDED MONDAY AFTERNOON: SFD says two people were treated, neither with life-threatening injuries:

-40-year-old male who was in stable condition. He was transported to Harborview via AMR.

-50-year-old female in stable condition. She was transported to a hospital via AMR.

It was a 2 car collision. 3 people involved. 2 people are currently getting treatment. One car is blocking intersection and the other went through a fence.

So glad to hear you and your sister are okay, same with little pup. Not sure on the car that ran the red light if there are any updates. Finally cleared up everything last night around 1am. Pulled the silver Scion from the condos, no exterior damage to the homes, just damage to the tree and wall. Saw driver of Scion get taken on stretcher the same time as you to the hospital!

Thank you for the info. I asked at Harborview but couldn’t get an update on the other driver. Without the west Seattle blog I would have no idea what happened as I didn’t see another vehicle before or after the accident, just sat at re light, our car started going straight once green, saw a shadow and then was spinning.

I didn’t see what happened in this circumstance, but this intersection is becoming increasingly dangerous. It should have a turning arrow.

My aunt and mother were the ones who got hit. It sounds like it was quite the ordeal, but glad they are both home resting and that it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.

Good to heard they are home and not in too bad of shape. Sometimes the aches & pains come 2-4 days after the collision. The black car sure looks like some speed was involved. Lots of people out to check out what happened as it sure must have made some noise.
