Yup, covering that separately. No sign of the “possibly in trouble” person yet in that one.

This accident, one of more than a dozen in the past three years, was described by a witness as follows. – The man in the red car was a gentleman probably in his late 60’s. He pulled out in front of the grey car coming up Admiral. He took responsibility for the accident but that other driver must have been going fast for that sort of result. He had a cut on his ear but otherwise was unharmed.– The woman in the grey car was in her late 70s/early 80s with her husband who is in memory care in the car and in a wheel chair. Both only had minor injuries- nothing serious. The immediate neighbors have called and written to both old and new council members and SDOT representatives multiple times but this accident prone area due to unchecked uphill speed, curve that creates blind spots for the intersections of Belvidere and 37th, and the overgrown vegetation in the median has gone unaddressed for a long time. Speed bumps, crossing lights, and more frequent stop light timing at Olga have all been suggested but without action. Apparently the “boulevard” nature of Admiral in this area (e.g., two lanes, both ways, divided by a median) reduces options. We will keep trying to create momentum and action. Hopefully, no deaths or serious injuries occur in the meantime.

Sorry, comment time is over.
