WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: Neighbor chases away burglar

Received tonight from Andrew:

I had someone break into my house tonight in the 5700 block of Admiral Way. This individual identified herself as Sarah Rose and was chased out by my neighbor. She went up 59th and likely hid in someone’s yard to avoid police, who were called and responded. Case number is 23-206843.

She tried walking out on a 140 tab at Ohana in Belltown a few days ago.  The cops came and arrested her. See video on Ohana’s Facebook page

It’s no longer there, did they remove it?

Wow, Yosh! Way to keep your cool and document how she flat out stole from you at Ohana.
Cheers to you and your staff for being vigilant and getting the word out about this flagrant criminal. Now one week later, she’s out of custody and breaking into homes?! Absolutely unbelievable!

It is still on their Instagram page

Probably wasn’t forced to pay the tab at Ohana after being arrested, and then out looking to break into a house a day or two later. She is such a benefit to society

I was able to find a video and a clear image on Ohana’s Instagram (ohanabelltown). It looks very much like the same person!

We live on 55th/Alki and all our neighbors get together to do a movie night on Friday nights, off the alley. Projector, camping chairs and beers.Last night we had a new neighbor pop in during the movie — Sarah. Yes, this Sarah. Not uncommon for neighbors to sit with us and we try to do community building in this way.Sarah said she lived off 62nd. Just moved from Portland, from Austin before that. No idea if any of that is true.Used my bathroom mid-movie and asked my wife if she could crash on the couch (“roommate was having a party and didn’t want to deal with it”). Politely declined. Had eyes on her while in our house luckily. Also used a neighbors bathroom. Never left alone either. Eventually left towards Alki Ave.Was with us from ~9:30pm – 1am. We watched The Wedding Singer, since I’m sure you were wondering 😂

Same girl came to my Alki yardsale on Thursday (yes, during the week) with the same story about being from Austin and living in Pdx for three years. She said her phone, id, and credit cards had been stolen and she needed a pair of sweatpants (I gave her a grey pair). She mentioned she was unable to stay at shelter and looking for places to crash and get by. She had long dark hair with a baseball cap.

I would suggest that you not advertise what your whole neighborhood does at a certain night and certain time… Because you’re telling potential thieves, when you’re not in your homes.

By the way, did anyone hear gunshots/explosions last night around 11:30 PM in the Fauntleroy park area?

Good thing you kept your eye on her.  After a brief visit to my Alki apartment, I discovered Sarah from Austin had stolen a handful of family heirlooms in a matter of seconds while I was at the refrigerator.  Heartbreaking.

It’s sad that you can’t trust people anymore. It seems this woman has created a sad story to gain sympathy so she can trick people into giving her free things and letting her into their homes to steal. Who knows if her name is really Sarah or if anything else she has said is true?

Sorry, comment time is over.
