Just in case you wondered too: Helicopter loops

That’s a screengrab from Flightradar24 a few minutes ago, showing the loops the King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter Guardian One has been flying. We’ve received a few questions from people wondering if there’s an incident; no, just loops, as far north as Lincoln Park and as far south as Des Moines. This happens every so often. Whether it’s training or patroling, we don’t know, but will inquire tomorrow.

Who do I complain to? It’s one thing if there’s an active investigation, but this is not the time or the place for mere exercise. If they aren’t looking for someone (with very valid cause), this is utterly unacceptable! If it’s just an exercise, it’s unnerving harassment. After the near-userous increases in property taxes for the last several years running, don’t we at least deserve a little peace at night?! FFS!

I respectfully submit that you get over yourself and accept that this comes with living in society.  I can only imagine you living in the South Sound or on Whidbey and be confronted with the random and racous flight noises that come with living close to JBLM or NAS, heck or even a little closer to Sea-Tac.

How thoughtful. Working class people don’t need no sleep. My house is shaking while I’m sick on leave from the emergency room. Thanks for your consideration at night King County. Well, unless this is what is has come to in these days of turmoil. If you need night practice to capture the dicks who rob and carjack then I’ll go buy some Benedryl and continue to sleep with my Beretta Nano (Ill still here you if you step on my property…guaranteed so I dare you).  I pick up from Uncle Ike’s for my elderly father and I’m packing and I’m watchful. Not sure what the story is about these loops despite this article but I hope it becomes clear as to what loops at night is for. I don’t appreciate moving my bedding to the basement for no reason.

It sure is a reassuring sound when there’s real trouble and Guardian One is one the way. It’s like seeing your big brother coming when the bully has you up against a locker.

Really?  I have lived within spitting distance to the ferry terminal for just over a year and there has not been a single dawn, morning, midday, afternoon, dusk, early evening, or dark of night where I wasn’t rocked by the outrageous volume from the street racers who run the West Seattle circuit 24/7. That coupled with the danger of intentional high speed driving in a beach community should be of far greater concern than the occasional, if not rare disruption of our first responders going the extra mile to ensure they are prepared to be there for us if or when we need them. I for one was happy to see them up there. I hope they all made it home safely tonight.

Maybe it could STILL be for this, they haven’t caught the person/people who have been pointing laser lights at the Airline Pilots…so a little safety concerns shouldn’t be so bad to keep you awake???https://www.king5.com/article/news/crime/laser-strikes-airplanes-seattle-tacoma-international-airport-seatac/281-e0acdb44-84c2-4d1e-a834-c920d06f41a1

Yeah, people complain too much about the law and order providers.  Man they have to deal with the bad actors and then the complainers.  But we cannot complain about the streetracers 24/7 because they are just “expressing” themselves and exercising their “freedom”.  Have you guys seen all the burnt rubber tire markings around West Seattle.  Really I do not mind hearing the looping of a helicopter, just like I do not mind the sirens of our first responders.  And forbid me, I do not mind hearing the police crusers rushing to a sceen 24/7.  Maybe just maybe that helicopter was looking for those catalytic converter thieves in the dark SUV, maybe!!!

Never fails- waited for the whiners to appear afterI heard that it was  G1 making loops & I wasn’t disappointed. Night training -yes even /especially over populated areas is  critical- that shouldn’t have to be explained &  should be appreciated.  It’s not something that happens every night -to call it harassment is absurd. Makes me wonder if these folks are the same ones who whine about train whistles & ferry horns.

Law and order folks, you’ll be comforted to know it was not a training exercise.

Sorry, comment time is over.
