WEST SEATTLE SCENE: Park plunge

Thanks to Jan for the photos from Luna/Anchor Park tonight. Don’t know the story behind the group jump – maybe YOU do?

ADDED THURSDAY: Thanks to Marc – whose son was the one doing the back flip – for sending this video:

He says, “They had so much fun doing this! Great kids too!”

Yikes, that had to be cold!  I love the pics though – great action shot!

Beautiful.  It is great to see some kids outside doing something creative and healthy.  It looks like the pilings are at least 6 feet apart.:)

Omg! My son was just sharing these pics with me. He’s the 3rd in from the left! This is a group of West Seattle teens that were cold after those jumps. Great times and good shots!

2nd from the right is positioned for a backflip…  They’ll be talking about this for years.  I love it.

Yes, just a group of WS friends (including my daughter) having a good time jumping into crazy-cold water! 😀  Fun.

I can only imagine the amount of garbage littering the bottom at that spot. I hope I’m wrong, though.

Have stood in thst spot and looked into the water many times. Looked pretty clear.

  • pjk June 25, 2020 (10:18 am)

LOL – I learned to swim in that water as a 4-5 year old – lifeguards at the Bathhouse taught swim lessons every summer.  Was it cold?  Sure, but we didn’t know anything else, and it was our ALKI!!

  • newnative June 25, 2020 (10:49 am)

I have never been able to go past my feet in the Puget Sound. Now I’m seriously considering it, after coming to terms with no summer travel and no pools will be open for a while.
