WEST SEATTLE FARMERS’ MARKET: Open again this Sunday

(WSB photo from last Sunday)

Just announced by the city, which is currently granting permits on a week-by-week basis – the West Seattle Farmers’ Market will be open again this Sunday, 10 am-2 pm on California SW between Alaska and Oregon. Find info on policies and vendors here; our coverage of last Sunday’s market – the first one in two months – is here.

YES! when i went last weekend, i was there before 10am and stood in line which promptly started moving at market’s opening time. i was gone by 10:15am and everyone, at that point, was very conscientious of new rules. i can’t speak to what happened later in the day but the staff were working their butts off to ensure safe experiences for customers and vendors.  so glad to hear this news . keep it up, west seattle! :)

I was in line for 5 minutes, so yay, however my husband stood in the sidelines and then watched a number of couples enter and it was too late for him to join me.  So can we attend together?  They also allowed dogs.  I have no objection to couples together or bringing pets, just think that arbitrarily loosening policy will result in chaos and drama. To reiterate, in favor of logical family attendance (masks, hand sanitizing, arms length distance) and well behaved canine accompaniment, just think that stated policy should match.

The market is still asking for people to come 1 per household and leave dogs at home. Please wear a mask for the protection of yourself and others. There were issues with dogs and groups last week so expect some more enforcement this week. Above all, we want everyone to be safe, socially distant, and support our farmers by shopping quickly while in the market. – your friendly market staff

I just got that email too – am adding the rule recap above – they have dropped the attempt at being one-way, but the only entrance remains California/Alaska.

Sorry, comment time is over.
