Note that there is a temporary ferry schedule for two weeks for Seattle/Bainbridge and Seattle/Bremerton: Jan. 4 – 20, 2020.https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/ferries/colmanmultimodalterminal/what-to-expect-during-construction

We usually confine our ferry mentions to the Triangle Route, so that’s why I didn’t include that, but thanks.

Holidays are over and normal traffic is back. Easy to see that the 99 bus lane does nothing good for anyone.

I left the house late and was pleasantly surprised I got to work earlier than usual. The bus lane seems to work for some of us.

Monday’s, like Friday’s, are a little lighter in car traffic than the middle of the week.  Look for Tuesday to be a reset to reality.

Bus lanes work if the speed of the buses is greater than the speed of the cars in the general purpose lanes next to them. The half mile bus lane on 99 does not work, as both cars and buses go the same speed during that section of road, because it creates an artificial bottleneck further upstream in the system. You only got to work earlier because traffic was lighter. We need smart bus lane placement at places where there actually are bottlenecks (approaching traffic signals, etc.)

Turn on your lights or make sure they are on during days like this.
