CROSS-SOUND SWIM: That’s Rose Filer, who’s doing the Amy Hiland Swim from Bremerton to Alki Point right now, as previewed here. Andrew Malinak of the Northwest Open Water Swimming Association just sent the photo. If all goes well, she’s due to reach this side around 4 pm – you can track her progress here.
WADING POOL: Per Parks’ daily hotline recording, Lincoln Park wading pool (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW) WILL be open today.
COMMUNITY CLEANUP AT LAFAYETTE ELEMENTARY: 2:30-4:30 pm, your help would be very welcome as volunteers clean up the grounds – “playground cleanup, light painting, etc.” – to get ready for the start of school. More info in our calendar listing. (2645 California SW)

HIGH-SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Chief Sealth IHS is home vs. Kennedy Catholic HS at 7 pm at newly renovated Southwest Athletic Complex (2801 SW Thistle). West Seattle HS is on the road at North Thurston, 8 pm (600 College St. NE, Lacey). And West Seattle Stadium (4432 35th SW) is home field for O’Dea HS, which is there vs. Peninsula at 7 pm tonight.
