Last week for all but 1 West Seattle wading pool

(WSB file photo, Delridge wading pool)

If you and your little one(s) have been enjoying the Seattle Parks wading pools this summer – here’s a reminder: Except for Lincoln Park wading pool, open daily (weather permitting) through Labor Day (September 3rd), this is the last week for the city’s wading pools. In our area:

SOUTH PARK’S LAST DAY: Thursday (August 16th)

EC HUGHES’S LAST DAY: Friday (August 17th)

HIAWATHA’S LAST DAY: Saturday (August 18th)

DELRIDGE’S LAST DAY: Sunday (August 19th)

P.S. West Seattle’s only spraypark, Highland Park, will – like the Lincoln Park wading pool – be open daily, 11 am-8 pm, through Labor Day.

Too bad they’ll closed them down, when the weather is still so hot….

I know, it’s such a bummer. Summer camps are still in session for 2 more weeks after this week. High Point CC takes the kids to EC Hughes every week

Might I suggest, it’s worth a mention to City Councilmembers if you are interested in more hours/days for wading pools. It’s been some years since they were cut back …

Maybe it is time to convert them to sprayparks?

I believe that is part of their long-range planning already…

Ridiculous to shut down wading pools in the middle of summer with summer camp still in session.  Of course expecting that the city will provide things to hardworking people is a dream, when the elected priorities is to spend our money on their pet projects.

Sorry, comment time is over.
