West Seattle Friday: Pre-holiday-getaway-weekend edition

(Osprey with nesting material, photographed along the Duwamish River by Mark Wangerin)

If you’re not busy planning your holiday getaway, here’s what you should know about this pre-holiday-week Friday:

NO WADING POOLS: Not warm/sunny enough to open them today, says Seattle Parks.

LOW TIDE, WITH BEACH NATURALISTS: Seattle Aquarium volunteer beach naturalists are out at Constellation Park (63rd SW/Beach Drive) and Lincoln Park (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW) 11 am-2:30 pm because the tide is out to -1.6 feet at 12:22 pm.

‘HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH’: 7:30 pm at ArtsWest, and there are still a few tickets as of this morning. (4711 California SW)

THREE BANDS: Pellegrini, Rabble House, Glass Beaches at The Skylark, 8 pm, $8 cover, 21+. (3803 Delridge Way SW)

I agree with not opening the wading pools until hot weather returns. What becomes of the pre-funded pool days that have been cancelled?  Will the wading pool season be extended to include them?
