Thought we needed a little positivity today. I collected some donations from my coworkers at Circa to take to a tent community down on E. Marginal Way.
Blankets, socks, clothes, towels, food, coats and toiletries. 💛💛💛 Taking them down now … with my husband and 9 year-old.
Need a little more positivity?
– America has been leaning toward progress for decades. We’re not going to go backwards just because we change figureheads.
– Progressives, Liberals, Democrats, Lefties, etc. have one huge thing going for us: we’re joiners. We welcome diversity. We’re willing to reach across aisles, borders, worlds, to bridge gaps. Strength through diversity, remember? We have the strong position of being welcome to new ideas. Closed-minded people dig in their heels and defend themselves; that is not a strong position. We move. The fearful do not. Reach out and listen.
– The president does not have all the power. Democracy is good because it is a dynamic form of government. We are doing well in Washington state. We are one among many who believe in progress, freedom, equality.
– All Americans share some basic, good values: life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, the golden rule. We all live here in one big melting pot, yet we call ourselves Americans. We are still a strong nation. There is more that unites us, even now, than divides us. Let’s use that strength to make our place in the world a better one.
Let us not lose hope. There is much to be grateful for, much to be proud of, and much to accomplish. Let’s work together, America.
