VIDEO: New look at what’s under the sea off West Seattle

An overnight extra while it’s quiet: “Diver Laura” James and fellow diver Lamont G. recorded this video at Cove 2 earlier this week. “So many fish” that night, Laura enthused, while sharing the link, also noting that the sea stars are still more or less MIA.

P.S. We asked about the creature you’ll see about a minute in … “lemon peel nudibranch,” Laura replied.

P.P.S. Remember to do what you can to help keep the water clean for everything that lives there – minimizing deadly, toxic runoff is a start – find out how, here.

Wow – that’s just magical. I love the nudibranch! I wonder what kind of fish we’re seeing in the video – the small silvery ones.
With West Seattle (over)growing, we need to be stewards of our waters and land now more than ever.

Reading about toxic runoff made us finally take the leap to get rid of our last car.

PLEASE READ IMPORTANT: Thread in the forum over the summer about where to host a car wash for school fundraiser which then led to posters suggesting organizations looking to have fundraiser to pick up micro litter in neighborhoods with density donations by three forum posters alone amounted to almost $200 for just picking up trash in west seattle. This is a rescue effort really cause it all goes down the storm drain eventually the puget sound.

Wow! I’ve never seen so many fish there! I too have made changes to help with toxic runoff. I’ve replaced, a bit at a time, grass w/ “layered” planting (smaller trees, med sized plants and ground plants) near the storm drain. And started leasing a small smart car ($120 mo) to replace my oil leaking SUV. Dismayed that the starfish are still MIA.
