(WSB photo: SFD crews before they wrapped up & left scene)
First report: Seattle Fire is arriving at an apartment building in the 6700 block of Murray SW (map) to check out a possible fire. More to come.

Update: Kitchen fire – “food on stove” – and already tapped.

10:12 PM: We’ve confirmed at the scene, that’s all it was.

We just heard 3 units go by with sirens going.

Lots and lots of firetrucks with sirens, so was hoping you had info

Now they’re all leaving; that was fast

When it’s “food on the stove,” all they really need to leave at the scene is a unit or two to ventilate the smoke.

Thanks to this news source, I knew what all the Fire engines were doing in our neighborhood.

Is that what the helicopter circling around was for?

    • WSB October 10, 2014 (10:16 pm)

The helicopter actually had something to do with an SPD traffic stop at 35th and Avalon. That was happening while the fire call was (briefly) unfolding so I don’t know exactly what that was about – trying to find out but not sure if we’ll be able to.

It was actually 6790. Next to pelly place. Ty

We stick to general block numbers – not specific numbers – because the 911 log often reflects the address it was *believed* to be, or called in as, or sometimes called in from, and even when the specific address is narrowed in on, that log doesn’t always change.

Use to live next door. Very happy no one got hurt. Have friends who have lived there. :)
