Huskies win, fan loses … banner, to theft. Seen it?

That’s Athena and her UW Huskies fan banner. Brand new … and, now, stolen from her yard in the 5900 block of Beach Drive SW (map). “If anyone sees it, I would appreciate getting it back. … It’s about 8.5 ft tall and slender, looks exactly like this, still brand new.” Let police know if you have an idea about what happened to it.

As a Coug I don’t like the banner, but I can appreciate the pride Athena has in her choice of teams. Hopefully it will be returned. Sorry that somebody took it.

That’s too bad; this isn’t the first time this sort of thing has happened on beach drive. I remember when the house at Beach Drive and SW Genessee had an American flag with a lot of sentimental value stolen. A problem is that Beach Drive is a popular route for ‘tourists’ to cruise, and I wouldn’t be surprised if some ‘bros’ in a pickup just took a fancy to it and grabbed it.
    .
I guess you chalk this one up into the ‘this is why we can’t have nice things’ Dept.. If you live on Beach Drive, make sure the ‘flair’ you have out front is either (1) visible, but not readily accessible, (2) tied down, or (3) too heavy for a couple of guys to carry.

Sorry, comment time is over.
