TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Tuesday updates

(Live view from the east-facing WS Bridge camera; other cameras are on the WSB Traffic page)
7:21 AM: No sun-glare challenges this morning, though the forecast says it’ll be back – no other major impediments reported so far, either.

7:58 AM: Aiko reports a school bus stalled or otherwise mobility-challenged on 35th SW in the High Point area.

8:45 AM: Traffic alert for Delridge in the 5900 block – what’s on the 911 log as a car fire is, according to Tom via Twitter, a car-vs.-truck crash just outside K-5 STEM at Boren. We are en route to see what’s happening.

9 AM: The crash involved a taxi that went into the back of a truck, on the southbound side of Delridge:

As bad as it looks, we are told at the scene that no one was hurt.

Glad the trailer crash-bars were federally mandated. Saved my hide once.

Eastbound bridge traffic was worse today without the sun. :) There was or maybe still is a moving truck semi stalled in the right shoulder of I 5 north between the WS bridge and I 90. Traffic is squeezing by in the right lane which is backing up traffic on the WS bridge. Took me 40 minutes to get to I 5 leaving at 8:00 :) :) :) :)

I drove by right after it must’ve happened. Officer was on scene. Glad no one was hurt.

I suspect that taxi is going to need a new set of seat covers and carpet. :)

I wonder if he was on the phone? I’ve ridden with far too many cab drivers who are almost constantly taking calls and apparently running three other businesses while driving, it gets a bit scary.

The truck and taxi were on the parking lane. The truck has been parked there a few days….cab driver must have taken foot off brake?

Semi-Tractor’s, Semi Trailers or any other vehicle 80″ wide or wider are NOT to be parked along Delridge Way or in any other residential area during the hours of Midnight to 6:00AM. If you see this being done call the SPD Non-Emergency number at 625-5011

As hard as that Taxi hit that truck, he’s lucky he wasn’t in one of the Prius versions, I don’t think he would have survived.

Sorry, comment time is over.
