TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Tuesday notes, plus ‘Bertha’

(Live view from the east-facing WS Bridge camera; see other cameras on the WSB Traffic page)
Nothing out of the ordinary reported currently on the main West Seattle-vicinity routes.

‘BERTHA’ WATCH: Today’s the day the ship carrying the Highway 99 tunnel-boring machine arrives in Elliott Bay; it’s just about to Port Angeles, according to MarineTraffic.com, so still a few hours out – we’re awaiting WSDOT’s next official estimate. Here is a great place to monitor all marine traffic in the whole world. Zoom in on Seattle.

The ship to search for is Fairpartner. Appears to be across from Bush Point Lighthouse on Whidbey Island now with an ETA in Seattle of ab. 3 p.m.

Sorry, I omitted the name. Will have a separate story up in a few minutes for the final watch but in the meantime, thanks for adding that. – TR

The DOT hasn’t updated their link to a webcam (see http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/Viaduct/About/FollowBertha). Does anyone know if a webcam is up and running to view the arrival?

Sorry, comment time is over.
