Video: First pm commute on Highway 99’s narrowed ‘Timber Bridge’

That’s the view from our 4:15 pm drive on the newly narrowed ‘Timber Bridge’ section of southbound Highway 99 south of the West Seattle Bridge. It became stop-and-go right before the WS Bridge exit and even came to a halt for a moment or two. Past the bridge, the outside lane is the through lane. (added) Right after publishing this, we got a text from Michelle that it’s backed up to Lander. Adding the “live” camera at Lander:

Thanks for the great perspective on yet another traffic challenge West Seattle commuters must endure.

And thanks also for being a FREE media source for valuable news and information. Don’t know how we existed prior to the WSB.

Wow, just like driving in Russia except with out the wrecks, moose and fighter jets. Dash cam.

I left downtown just after 5:00pm today and it wasn’t bad at all. Slowdown where the lanes merge into one, but no worse than merging onto 99 from the Columbia on-ramp. Thank you for the stories and follow-ups on this. Very much appreciated.

Wow! It was smooth sailing at 4:00! There was a land rover that was rear ended. The driver was out of her vehicle and talking to the driver of the SUV that hit her. No visible damage that I saw as I zoomed by, but it did cause a bit of a back up as people were lining up behind them thinking it was the bridge work.

Sorry, comment time is over.
