West Seattle Crime Watch: Bicycle stolen; items found

Notice an abandoned bicycle? Might be the one stolen late last night. Or – missing some items? A WSB’er found some. Both are ahead in the latest West Seattle Crime Watch reports:

First – Melissa reports the stolen bike:

Just thought it was worth mentioning that my friend’s bicycle (white Schwinn Fastback) was stolen from my house last night around 11:30pm. We live on the 1700 block of Walnut Ave SW in north Admiral.

And from Mike, the found items:

This morning as I was leaving home to go to work (around 6:15 AM) I noticed an odd set of tools/toolbag/manila folder lying on my neighbors driveway (alley way by Schmitz Elementary between Hinds/Spokane streets. I checked closer to see that a Pelican box by it was empty and manila folder was empty with some random tools just laying about. I imagine it’s a professionals toolbag for something, the Pelican box probably had some expensive electronics in it prior to being dumped. I called and reported it to SPD, but wanted to let you know so that whomever might have had items stolen can know more about the whereabouts they were dumped. Maybe somebody had a vehicle broken into and items stolen? Looked like a dump and run for quick sell items. Some of the tools they left are expensive too, I think they might have had more interest in the Pelican box item than anything.

We also had a car prowl last night at 51st and Charlestown. Stolen from my car were a few wool blankets, a towel and my son’s 2T yellow Osh Kosh B’Gosh rain slicker. Could have been worse, but what kind of a jerk steals a toddler’s rain coat?

We had a car broken into near 54th & Charlestown, nothing was in the car but a yellow fleece blanket, which they took. I feel sorry for the guy I catch some night prowling around my house. The traps are set.

Sorry, comment time is over.
