Video: West Seattle Junction Car Show 2011 – the winners!

(Updated 9:27 pm with video of the awards ceremony)

3:07 PM: Haven’t been to the West Seattle Junction Car Show yet? Still time – if you hurry! Here are a few more examples of the lovingly preserved/restored automotive history on display – that’s a 1921 Buick above, and a 1954 MG below:

From the muscle-car ’60s, a 1967 Barracuda:

The wrap-up, and yet more photos, later! (And if you’re just looking for an update on when the streets will reopen – since the displays here are on wheels, breakdown takes less time than, oh, say Summer Fest, so it doesn’t usually take long after the official 4 pm end time.)

ADDED 9:27 PM: Video of the entire awards ceremony:

Best in show: Harold and his Buick, originally shown above – the car’s 90 years old, and so is he!

I wish the weather was better this year. Last year was not that nice either. Still some nice cars and lunch at Elliot Bay made it better.

It was also a little disappointing to see the majority of the cars start leaving at 3:30. Although the California Ave was closed, it seemed dangerous to walk down the street with all the cars in such a hurry to leave!

re: the car show- we had been in years past during the afternoon, noticing all the cars leaving. this year we showed up around 10 am (thinking that it started at 8 am). but, it was still half empty and cars were arriving. in order to see the most cars, i guess you have to show up in the middle of the day.

does any-one know if all the raffle winners have been notified by now ?

I couldn’t take my eyes off of that ’66 Corvette. That thing dropped out of heaven.

What I can’t understand is, the show is advertised to go til 4PM, and every year, some of the cars start leaving around 3, after the awards–so the show shouldn’t be advertised to go till 4.

Need to have this show earlier in the summer, every year the weather ruins the show. Would bring my cars if they changed this.

Sorry, comment time is over.
