High-school football: Seattle Lutheran beats Darrington

The week’s final high-school-football game is in the books: Seattle Lutheran High School beat Darrington HS at West Seattle Stadium tonight, 40-13. Summary and video to come.

ADDED: Game details, ahead:

From WSB co-publisher Patrick Sand, who covered the game at the stadium:

Saturday’s game saw lots of big explosive plays that lead to touchdowns, but it was a key turnover and clock control in the second half that led the Saints to a 40-13 win over the Loggers. The game got off on a big note when Lutheran senior Tyrell Walker-Hampton ran the opening kickoff back for 66 yards, which set up this touchdown by senior RJ Son on the next play:

Walker-Hampton and Son combined to also come up with the first score of the second half. This time things were reversed when Sun ran the ball 71 yards from scrimmage and Son then went in on the next play to score. Son finished the night with 136 yards rushing while Walker-Hampton had 179.

Darrington kept things interesting by putting the ball in the air. He racked up about 200 yards passing, which included two touchdowns, one for 47 yards and the other for 81.

Next week the Saints travel to Concrete.
