Video: West Seattle’s Marty Riemer returning to The Mountain?

That just-published clip is the second in a series of video hints, posted to YouTube and shared via the home page and Facebook page for 103.7 The Mountain radio, further enhances speculation that West Seattle online/on-air personality Marty Riemer is about to rejoin the station that booted him and on-air partner Jodi Brothers in fall 2009. He and Brothers, who also lives in this area, have been podcasting from Riemer’s basement for much of that time – but she just (a) had a baby and (b) announced she’ll be with the Bob Rivers Show when it arrives at 95.7 FM this spring. The Riemer-returning speculation started with both the departure of the DJ who took over morning at The Mountain after him, and then with the first video hint earlier this week (note the West Seattle scenery, plus another West Seattleite, The Mountain’sdirector Shawn Stewart). As today’s clip says in the final frame, there’s news coming Monday; we’re checking with Riemer to seek at the very least a golden-voiced “no comment.”

If it happens I will turn the dial back to 103.7 but not until then.

If this is indeed true, I wonder if a video will be shot in-studio, of station management eating humble pie?

I loved the last line of that clip “as long as it’s not mornings”.

This makes me so happy. Its nice to see good things happen to good people, a rarity in the entertainment business.

I wouldn’t return after they booted me. Another radio station should take him on!

    wishy-washy business, that radio biz.

we west seattleites are a loyal bunch and marty’s deserving of our loyalty! if he goes back to the mountian, my dial would find him there once again but in all honesty, my respect for mainstream radio was lost when they made the initial decision to can him and jodi over a year ago.

Good for these guys getting back on the air. Talk radio etc.. has really got bad in Seattle lately.

Love Marty. Funny, ran into him a few weeks ago and he spoke of how nice it is not to answer to anyone, LOL. We shall see..I’d tune back in too!

wow, I didn’t know the mountain still had DJs. (just kidding, kind of.)

Much as I love the podcast – and that it’s from West Seattle – I’ll be happy to hear Marty back on the Mountain. And he doesn’t belong at any other station in the market. (No offense, Jack FM.)

I quit listening when they got rid of Marty and Jodi, but I’d go back if they brought him back. I’d like Jodi back, too, but will take what we can get.

Hmm. I was at Verite the other day and he was sitting at a table talking with several people about how well the podcast was going and how much he koved doing it.

By the way, this video is a parody of the homeless radio guy video that was on Youtube and has been all over the media the last two weeks.

Jodi’s going to Bob… What about Moira??? Happy to see both of them getting paying gigs, as fickle as radio can be.

I, too, am one that has not listened to 103.7 once since Marty left. Hope they’re making it worth his while. Working out of your basement can’t possibly be that lucrative…and he has a fairly new child, too.

Wonder how long it took the station to figure out that they had made a colossal mistake..

At least this says Marty is coming back and the KMTT website has pictures and videos there. Starts afternoons on Jan 24th.

Lisa – when we swapped FB mail with Marty earlier in the day, they were still trying to keep things under wraps till Monday morning, FWIW. But it was clear from correspondence we had with a variety of sources that the guesses weren’t offbase, so I have no reason to doubt the Weekly link you shared. The formal announcement is due 7 am Monday, according to station management – TR

For the record, I’m still mourning the loss of John & Mike in the morning. But I turned the radio off completely after Marty & Jodi left. Curious to hear what happens next!
