Why the Morgan Junction McDonald’s is closed tonight

Four notes came in within the past half-hour asking why the Morgan Junction McDonald’s is closed and dark tonight. We went over to check; a note on the door says it closed at 6 tonight for “equipment upgrades” and will reopen at 7 tomorrow morning.

Chrisma, the context of those notes to us was that of people driving by, noticing it was dark, and wondering, rather than driving into the lot, seeing it was dark, not getting out of car to investigate why. We happened to be out when the first three notes came in, and it’s at the bottom of our hill anyway, so we pulled in to look. – TR

I wonder if they will “upgrade” their milkshake machine. Like most McDonald’s around here, all their milkshakes taste like banana no matter what flavor you ask for. I’ve not noticed this phenomenon in any other city.

Mea culpa – it was a snarky comment, laden with assumptions. I could feel an unkind stereotype beginning to congeal in my mind. Apologies.

In all seriousness, I’ve only been in West Seattle a couple of months, but I do appreciate the efforts of WSB and the community to keep us all up to date and informed about happenings in the neighborhood.
