West Seattle Junction Car Show 2010, report #3: Afternoon sun

Prime time to come down and see the West Seattle Junction Car Show (co-sponsored by WSB) if you haven’t already – we’re in hour 4 of sun (the puddles from the morning monsoons are almost all gone – check out the blue sky over the Last Resort Fire Department ladder:

That’s parked by the spot where raffle/drawing tickets to raise money for West Seattle Helpline are still on sale, and judging continues, with awards coming up at 3. Here by the way are a few more of the cars that have been here all day, through rain and shine:

Like West Seattle Summer Fest and all the other great summer festivals we were thrilled to be part of too, there’s a whole lot of “get out and talk to your friends and neighbors” going on here – thanks to everyone who has stopped by to say hi! More to come as the awards are announced in about an hour. 3:36 PM: Show’s over – awards have been announced, cars are rolling out. We’ll publish the list of who won (with pix) a bit later.

There were some FANTASTIC cars! Very cool to have the leisure to study them up close. Hope people fine the Adopt a Pet van, too. :-)

I was disappointed that all the cars were GONE by 3:30! I thought the show was supposed to go until 4pm?

yes, we too showed up for a quick walk through at 3:20 or so and found all the cars leaving, it was almost empty by 3:45. the few we did get to see were awesome though and i look forward to next year, when i will arrive earlier!

I want to thank everyone for the great hospitality. My daughter and I had a great time bringing our car out to show. We drove over from Wenatchee to join you. We had coffee and cupcakes, a great deli lunch, and even got some early Christmas shopping out of the way. You have a great neighborhood to be proud of. We will be back next year!

Love this event, thanks to those that make it happen, especially those who bring their treasures out on a crappy Seattle Summer day. Wish it could be on Saturday so’s not to interfere with Seahawks games. Funny how I used to drool over the hot rods and 60’s 70’s muscle cars, and now I’m drooling over the ’58 BMW Isetta and that brown Dodge Fast Times at Ridgemont High van.
