West Seattle Crime Watch: Van vandalized

Crime takes no holiday … Michael shares news of what happened to his family’s van this weekend:

Our mini van was vandalized sometime Saturday Night/Sunday Morning 5/23-5/24. Someone smashed one of the door windows. Nothing was stolen and there is nothing of apparent value in it other than baby gear. Second time in a couple months our van has been targeted. Location 34th Ave SW between Andover and Charlestown [map].

Michael, so sorry this happened to you…guests of ours were also victim Saturday night. We are around 38th and Genesee. The driver side window was smashed in with a big rock. We’re good about not keeping valuables in the car, but we’ll be much more careful about reminding guests as well now.

On Sat or Sun evening, our car was searched by someone, they tossed the garbage from the door pockets on the floor. Looks like they only took the spare change from the ashtray. We’re at 36th and Juneau.
Had a car stolen from out front last year at this time, SPD found no trace of it. This small incident was a big reminder of that.

Saturday night someone rummaged through the trunk of my car and took a bag with extra shoes, a knit cap, gloves, and a first aide kit in it. They also took an empty backpack. Luckily, they didn’t try to get into the inside of my car. I may have accidentally left my trunk partially open – don’t know for sure – but I will certainly be more careful from now on and bring my valuables inside. This happened in the alley at Fauntleroy and Rose Street.

Sorry, comment time is over.
