West Seattle Crime Watch: Stolen boat/trailer, “easy to spot”

Out of the WSB inbox, from Eric:

I had my small boat stolen last night from my alley in Arbor Heights (41st and 100th) between 8 last night and 7 this morning. It should be easy to spot and identify as it is bright yellow. The boat is a 1988 12 foot Duroboat with WA hull ID number WN-6743LD and the boat is yellow on top and aluminum on the bottom. It was on a galvanized (silver) trailer license number 2990TL. The trailer should be easy to spot as well as there aren’t too many boat trailers with small mismatched 8″ wheels (hey, I had a flat last week).

Another helpful ID point may be that the boat was upside-down on the trailer when stolen to keep the rain out. Most thieves aren’t know for their housekeeping skills so it is probably still upside-down on the trailer.

He’s reported this to Seattle Police, so if you call them with a sighting, they should be able to cross-reference.

Sorry to hear the news – I’ll keep my eyes out for it. I wonder if it was taken by the same guys who were stealing anything that was A.) metal and B.) not bolted down from alleys a couple weeks ago… https://westseattleblog.com/blog/?p=15972

Ugh! I hate to hear that anyone has been stolen from, but it takes a particularly low person to steal a man’s boat. I hope you get it back unharmed!

I could understand someone chasing around with your wife, but stealing your fishing boat is just plain UN-AMERICAN!!!!

Good luck finding it. This makes me SO MAD.

Thanks for all the support (particularly katemca). Luckily I wasn’t drinking something when I read it.

I don’t think somebody stole it for the metal, they left my aluminum ladder… (yes, I know I should lock my stuff up).

I am just sad that people don’t have respect for others.

Look on craigslist. Burglars probably would rather do meth than sail a boat. They will sell it for sure. Be sure to check Portland craigslist, and ask for a photo if you think you’re on it. Good luck. That pisses me off.

I had my drift boat stolen from 34th and Trenton. It was aluminum so it’s probably soda cans by now. It taugt me a valuable lesson, never leave anything out that isn’t locked up. So to you scumbag crackheads that ripped us off I say I hope you die an agonizing death, because if I catch you, you will learn what it feels like to be skinned alive and have gaso;ine poured over you.

Sorry, comment time is over.
