Traffic alert: Beware the glare; light out at 30th/Roxbury

Thanks to Jim for the tip – the stoplights at 30th/Roxbury (map) are out right now (and no temporary “stop” signs had been set up when we went over for a photo shortly after his tip came in) – because of the evening sunshine, the glare might fool you into thinking you have a green light; we’re checking to make sure somebody’s reported the outage.

Still out as of 10:15PM. There was a cop setting flares at the temporary stop signs in the intersection but he was on his cell phone so I couldn’t ask about an ETA for repair. There was some sort of Utility truck up the street a bit so I think they’re working on it.

THANK YOU for the report, MargL – I was going to drive over in a little while to look – I’ll wait a few hours instead! – TR

Simply amazing that so many people don’t know/don’t care that an out-of-power traffic light is always a 4-way stop. If only there was a feature in cars that gave people an electrical shock when they divert their attention or pick up a cell phone…

Sorry, comment time is over.
