Congrats to Chief Sealth’s National Merit Scholarship recipient

Thanks to Susan for e-mailing to be sure everyone hears that Chief Sealth High School senior Maxwell Forbes is one of five students citywide — about 1,000 nationwide — to get a corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship. The list is on seattlepi.com’s Big Blog (whose lead reporter Monica Guzman will be at Cafe Rozella at 5:30 pm today for her weekly meetup). Here’s more background on the scholarships.

What a great kid. We have had the pleasure of meeting Max and he is as nice as he is smart.
It’s sad when the burglar kid gets all the attention so just wanted to say Congratulations, the community is so proud of you.

Max is a great saxophone player too! He is the real deal: bright, kind and motivated. Glad to see it’s getting recognition.

Sorry, comment time is over.
