West Seattle’s winning Lotto ticket: Signs up, no claim yet

Washington State Lottery staffers visited the Admiral 7-11 this morning to put up those signs celebrating the $6.8 million jackpot-winning Lotto ticket sold there Saturday night (original WSB coverage here). At last check, though, the winner(s) hadn’t come forward to claim their prize; as we mentioned in yesterday’s story, they’re advised to make an appointment with the nearest lottery office (all branches listed here; Federal Way is closest to West Seattle) rather than just showing up. (The 7-11, by the way, gets a $68,000 check — 1% of the jackpot amount — for selling the winning ticket.)

Hopefully the Sevee is franchise owned, not corporately owned, because who then wouuld get that share of the award?

Just curious, is this the one on Admiral or one of the 3 in Admiral?

There is only one 7-11 on/in Admiral … the others in West Seattle are at Harbor/Florida, at California/Charlestown, at California/Erskine, at Avalon/35th, at Holden/16th… TR

About 10-!2 years ago the old manager, tall with poney tail, sold a big wonner, over $12,000,000 to a young dental student..About 2 years later a woman brought in a ticket to check and she won $10,000,000,Neither one of the winners even gave him a $10 tip NOTHING. Bob Stenehjem

I think Bob S. might be confusing the two incidents – I know someone who was there when the woman who bought the $10M ticket came in and gave the guy a $100 tip.

And by the way, this 7-11 seems awfully LUCKY, I think I’ll wait a year or two and then go buy me a ticket.

Sorry, comment time is over.
