West Seattle winning: Admiral 7-11 sells $6.8 million Lotto ticket

Thanks to three tipsters who heard this mentioned on TV last night and this morning – there was nothing online about it so we couldn’t mention it till we got it confirmed, but now we have. Washington State Lottery communications director Jacque Coe confirms that the one $6.8 million winning ticket from last night’s Lotto game was sold at the Admiral 7-11. She says the store was notified last night (and was checked with again this morning), and folks there are “very excited,” but the winner hasn’t officially come forward yet. If you happen to be the winner – or if you know the winner – here’s advice from Coe: SIGN THE TICKET. KEEP IT AWAY FROM HEAT SOURCES. AND — Call the nearest Lottery office tomorrow to make an appointment to claim your prize; she says you can’t just show up unannounced – they need to give you some information first to make sure everything will go smoothly when you get there. The office nearest West Seattle is in Federal Way; the number to Olympia headquarters is here. (Of course, we’d love to hear from The Big Winner too, although you’d have to show us the ticket – a former employer got hoaxed big-time by someone telling a [believable but not verified] tall tale.) Winning numbers, by the way: 5, 15, 24, 25, 35, 46.

The odds of winning the WA Lotto is roughly 1 in 6.9 million. If you consider that you have about a 1 in 600,000 lifetime chance of being struck by lightning you’d realize you’re probably better off not wasting your money.

We actually bought a ticket yesterday for the first time in a while… so when I got the first note late last night that supposedly the winning ticket was sold in West Seattle, I had a moment of fantasy regarding hiring a sizable staff to expand the site :) – TR

I won $1,000.00 on a scratch ticket there. I also bought a Lotto ticket from there yesterday. I’m not going to see if I’m the winner…..

Thanks for deleting my post. I didn’t realize WSB shared its stance on censorship with Communist China. Keep up the great work.

Only thing I’ve deleted (and I don’t know if it was yours, I looked at the content and not the name and it was an instant delete) was a comment insulting, and wishing death/injury, on someone else in this thread. Not allowed.

I think I recall that same 7-11 selling a winning lotto ticket about 12-14 years ago. The prize was something like 10 million. Anyone remember that? Oh, and congratulations to the lucky winner!!

    Andrew,

I do remember that as well. The clerk who sold the winning ticket said the winner returned and gave him a very generous gift.

Hello, Lottery Gods? I would be a very generous winner and could do a lot of good with a jackpot…just saying. Think that might help? ;)

    Congratulations to the lucky neighbor!

ahh! i didnt even buy a ticket, but i wish i would have won. I would move my family to someplace warm and just live with out having to attend work every day. Explore, enjoy and love life.

Dang….. yet here we are struggling to keep a roof over my baby’s head. Money stinks! Bills stink and so does trying to be a good mommy, staying home with your baby. Can hardly do it, if you want to. YOUR TOTALLY IN DEBT.
    =(

OPRAH, can you just give me 1 million?? JUST 1?

    Congratulations to the winner.
    GOD BLESS!

My name is Jacque Coe, Communications Director of the Washington Lottery. In response to an earlier post about a previous winner–yes, you are correct. Kudos to your memory! This store sold an $11 million winning Lotto ticket back in 1994 to a Federal Way man. We understand the individual continues to work in their profession and seems to be doing quite well. We will notify the West Seattle blog right away once a lucky winner steps forward.

Sorry, comment time is over.
