Commute alert: Thunderstorm rolling through

We’ve seen the flashes and heard the thunder — watch out for another bout of nasty weather on your drive home — though we can see a bit of sun over Vashon, it’s solid ominous gray looking toward Bainbridge and points northwest. Here’s the latest forecast; remember you can check out all the area traffic cameras here. (And here’s the radar link; thanks to Amy for that.) 4:41 PM UPDATE: OK, *that* flash was RIGHT HERE – the thunder followed almost immediately.

Jeff Renner has broken into programming twice, suggesting WS take cover – even mentioning a cloud formation that seems to have “rotation” to it. Auntie Em!!

Somebody earlier in the forum said a friend/relative had seen a funnel cloud. Maybe they really did. This was quite some hours ago, though. Can’t believe it, I was just walking through The Junction in bright sunshine barely an hour and a half ago.

I was just on my way to Lincoln Park and Wham!
I looked and saw this flash, counted to 2 and the thunder just shook my house. Fun fun fun!

There was a funnel cloud over Lake Washington. Crazy!

I can confirm that rotating cloud aka water spout off Alki Beach about 3:30. Spent 30 years watching tornados form on farm ponds in Oklahoma, no mistaking it. Many years ago a water spout came directly up Erskine, blew out a couple of windows and disappeared.
