Adding to the traffic closures related to the construction-worker rescue on Avalon (see post below, with continuous updates) – there’s an accident of some type on The Bridge, westbound at 1st Avenue So. Traffic “moving slowly.” 5:07 PM UPDATE: They are getting ready to reopen the 1st Ave. S. onramp to the westbound bridge.
It was a 3 or 4 car fender bender shutting down the left lane. It did not appear there were injuries.
Thanks. They just called for a tow/impound so here’s hoping it doesn’t affect the commute much.
There apparently were injuries. Engines 13 and 30 showed up, SPD blocked off the onramp from 1st Avenue and called WSP to block off the onramps from I-5. I think they called off the WSP, though, but by that time I was past the accident.
I use the 1st Avenue Bridge and have found that it is up frequently . Is there a problem? Is there a schedule that you know of?
