From the 34th District Democrats‘ site: The 7th Congressional District caucus over the weekend led to two Obama delegates from the 34th being chosen to go to the national convention in Denver in late August — Chris Porter from West Seattle and Nick Bordner from Vashon (a high-school senior). Nick Bordner goes to school with my son, I have known him peripherally since kindergarten. How exciting for him!
steph, i think the 2 listed are the only delegates selected (for either candidate) that are from the 34th.
Correct, there were no Clinton delegates elected from the 34th. If you follow the link to the 34th DD site you can read more details on the congressional-district caucus, but since this site is about West Seattle, we just mentioned the WS angle here on WSB. We’re also checking on the GOP process FWIW to make sure we’re not missing any West Seattleites going to the Republican Nat’l Convention.

This past Saturday still has my head spinning. It is hard to believe that, three years ago after moving to Seattle, I would be running for a delegate seat to the national convention. I am honored and amazed and the entire process, It has restored a since of fairness and a belief that any thing is possible.

What a great honor to be an Obama Delegate to the National Convention. I am Terri Elliott’s father and I saw your grandparents, Bob and Marcie, at Matt’s graduation yesterday.
I was a precinct captain in Santa Rosa, CA for the Obama campaign and plan to campaign from now until November 5.
