We told you March 10 about another round of city Parks Department public meetings heading this way to gather thoughts on the new Strategic Action Plan, developed after the first round of meetings (WSB coverage here) late last year. The draft plan is online (here), and that’s not all:

For one, there are links to the summaries of all the first-round meetings. Here are direct links to the ones that happened in West Seattle:

Alki Community Center
Camp Long
Delridge Community Center
Hiawatha Community Center
High Point Community Center
Southwest Community Center (the one we attended for this report)

The next round of public meetings is listed here (and it’s on the WSB Events page too) – the West Seattle meetings are 3 pm April 12 @ Alki CC, 6:30 pm April 14 @ Hiawatha CC, 6:30 pm April 16 @ Camp Long, 6:30 pm April 17 @ Southwest CC, 2 pm April 19 @ Delridge CC, and 6:30 pm April 24 @ High Point.

If you can’t make a meeting, here’s the online comment form.

As one youth-sports organization mentioned in a note to us, what’s at stake here is critical — will the Parks Department pursue money to buy more land, get more facilities, or will it just focus on trying to take care of what it has? We were impressed by the inclusive format of the meetings in the first round and expect something similar this time around. See you there.
