New Urban Eats is a nice idea, and it’s great to support up-and-coming restaurants. However, $30 isn’t exactly a bargain. Add in 20% (or more) tip, plus tax, plus perhaps a $25 bottle of wine or a couple of cocktails, and you’ve emptied your wallet. I’d be more inclined to participate if we were talking about $25, not $30. These restaurants are good, but they’re not fantastic for the price one is paying.

Man, just reading that “fresh sheet” is a joy. Makes me stop to think how lucky we are to have all that coming to our neighborhood each week, even during these cold dark days of winter!!

Tried the $30 three course deal at Beato Thursday evening and it was amazing! It’s a great deal for food of that quality and included a delicious chef’s gift, wonderful Bakery Nouveau bread, 2 delicious courses, and an incredible Theo Chocolate dessert. That really is such a great restaurant. They use many local/organic products, the menu is innovative, the food is impeccable, and the service is wonderful. Give it a try! West Seattle is so lucky to have at least one restaurant of that quality!

Sorry, comment time is over.
