Reader Recommendation Requests: 2 to start the day

Two requests for your recommendations. Reminder, all previous RRRs (with responses galore in the comments) are archived in their own category here.

CLEANING: Reader K is looking for a “good and reasonably priced West Seattle dry cleaner. Preferably one who cleans on site.”

SEWING: Reader daPuffin is looking for “referrals for a seamstress/tailor in West Seattle who can re-line a leather coat.”

All suggestions welcome; leave yours as a comment. If you have a RRR of your own, e-mail the request to us.

For DaPuffin, the woman at Alki Cleaners is the most incredible seamstress/alteration person around. She can do anything and is a perfectionist. She is fairly priced too.

I’ve used Debonair Cleaners for several years now, both for laundry and cleaning, and have been very pleased with their service, price and quality. Across from the Jack-in-the-Box on Admiral Way.

I would recommend the tailor/alterations place next to West Seattle Kids hair salon on California, south of Morgan Junction. The owner is very thorough and pretty fast, too. I have always been very satisfied with her work.

    Dry Cleaning, hands down Debonair.

Southwest Cleaners on 35th does a great job, very nice people, and they’re Envirostar certified.

Q Cleaners is high on my list. Brought in an off white sweater recently that had been sitting around for 2 years after a run in with lip gloss in the dryer and they got it all out! Very nice people too.

DRY CLEANING – Don’t know the name of the place, but it’s between Midas and the martial arts place on Fauntleroy – just north of Gee.

SEAMSTRESS – Up on California, south of the Morgan junction. There is a little seamstress place on the same block as West Seattle Kids (haircut place) near Cafe Lladro. Again – I’m not sure of the name. Prices are reasonable and they are FAST.

Thanks to all for their dry cleaning recommendations! Tried Debonair today. Must say the parking is a bit tricky there. We’ll see how they do!

Thanks for the suggestions. Will be checking them out soon. West Seattle Blog and its readers are the best!

I tried Debonair last week. They got a couple of nasty spots out of some sweaters. Good job!

Taking K’s recommendation above, I used Fit All Alternations at 6967 California Ave SW (next to the kids haircut place). They’re great. They hemmed two pairs of jean, and they did a fantastic job. It was more reasonable $ than the Belltown place I had been using. 206-935-8191.
