You have NO IDEA how happy I am that you found and posted this article. Some people seem to be under the impression that these kinds of incidents (such as the fight last weekend) are a brand new phenomenon. The players have changed but it all seems very familiar…knuckleheads are timeless.

Yes, these problems have been going on for many years. I am irate about the attitude the police seem to have, however. Responding to a 911 call in 15 minutes is not a great comfort to me or my neighbors. I have never owned a gun, but maybe it’s time if I can’t depend on the police to protect me.

We wouldn’t have so many knuckleheads at Alki if SPD did more proactive tear-gassing today. Bring the tasers too boys.

seems to me that if the police go into the crowd with clubs swinging- to a crowd that did not even know that an altercation might have happened between the biker and the cops- MIGHT be perceived as overreaction by the police. but that’s just my humble opinion.
“Police officers began opening up their car trunks and taking out riot gear. Being focused on the band, few in the crowd were aware of what was coming down. Even fewer heard the police loudspeaker when it barked, “This is an illegal gathering. You have one minute to disperse.”

Sorry, comment time is over.
