Further proof WS needs more burger options?

… witness Miss Seafair Erin Waid, a West Seattleite who reigned over Hi-Yu last year, caught on camera tonight by the P-I’s new Big Blog, out for burgers — at Interbay Red Mill! — with the rest of the Seafair court. (Erin’s Seafair reign runs till just before Saturday night’s Torchlight Parade, when for the first time the new Miss Seafair will be crowned pre-parade instead of at a separate evening event; contenders include West Seattle’s Michelle Edwards.)

What WS Seattle needs is proof of new salad bar..:)

Jiggers, when you really sit down and think aobut it, salad bars are no more healthy than anything else. Now, if it didn’t have cheese, bacon bits, croutons, jello, potato and macaroni salad, etc, etc…and of course, it can’t have salad dressing, then maybe you’re talking…but…who would go there…so stop with the snide remarks about burgers and pie, already :)

oh, and about the empty calories in those mixed drinks…everyone has a vice…right? being THIN doesn’t not necessarily equal HEALTHY…get over it …and I say that in the nicest way ;-)

frankly we could use both…a trendy salad place and a burger joint. I was hoping the old ovio would be that spot…instead we get oysters…yuck!

What we really need is an all-night diner – don’t really care what they serve or how healthy it is, just so it’s open past midnight and I can get a cup of coffee and something. I mean, talk about sleepy!

Actually, the rest of Seattle could use a few more all-night dives as well. Heck, I’d even settle for an IHOP somewhere in a short driving distance from the Junction. The Starbucks at Morgan shortened their hours recently – reason – the new drive-through has taken over some of their ferry business. ‘Course, Ladro is still open ’til 11:00 pm – but sometimes that’s still too early.

hmmm….I remember a long time ago going into the Corner Inn in the wee hours of the night for some “breakfast” after some drinking…granted this was a long time ago, but…they do have a restaurant side …wonder if it’s open late?

oops…sorry, Charlie…I suppose it pays to check things first…from what I could find they don’t serve food after 10pm now…a shame…

Chas, there’s always the Dennys in SoDo – not WS, but close enough if it’s the middle of the night and you’re desperate (I’ve done it a few times). The question is, how desperate are you? :)

True, there’s also the IHOP in Seatac if I’m even more desperate. One’s about 4 miles from my house, the other about 9.

Chas…WSB might be able to confirm this, but I seem to remember the guy who is opening Shadowlands in the old Neilsen Florist location said that he wanted to have a late night menu..with more healthy options…something to look for when it opens…

Sorry, comment time is over.
