Not coming to a website near you

For those of you who have asked — the city transportation department says the Admiral/Olga cam that popped up a while back will not be providing webpix like other city cams; it’s for traffic-signal “video detection” only.

I wouldn’t mind if it was a red light runner catcher .. think of all the buses that would get popped at Cali and Admiral! :)

You really think Metro drivers EVER get called on the carpet for cheating a red light???

    Nope, my bad.

My favorite “metro move” is when they run the light AND half of the bus is still in the intersection because they are stopped at an ill placed bus stop that is 2 feet inside the intersection.. if you honk at them while trying to get by or to let them know you are beside them trying to squeeze by, they have the finger ready for you … yeah, I’m the jerk who is breaking two or more laws at the moment… Riiiiiight. Buses may cut down on the number of cars on the road but the slow speed at which they travel and the amount of blocking/congesting they create can’t be much better than just having the cars on the road. I also love the SMC law that basically allows them to cut you off and it’s your fault if they hit you. There are a number of bus stops around the city that are on one lane roads so when the bus stops for customers it stops all traffic behind it. How smart is that?! Buses are noisy, some pollute, and they just suck in general. They also stop short of the bus stop and block entrances and exits to parking lots.

There are two cameras on Fauntleroy Way by the Lincoln Park Tennis Courts, setup on Monday Morning. They are two cams on one light pole in front of the Metro Bus Shelter.

Sorry, comment time is over.
