Nov. 22, 1963 I was in Mr. Voris’s Mechanical Drawing class, 3rd Hall Denny Junior High, when all the class room phones rang informing the teachers who then informed the classroom that the President of the United States has just been shot.

Jan: I’ve never, ever seen this quote before. Thank you so much for sharing it. I’m a little misty now. Going to print that out and have it up on the wall.

    Amen.

This quote is a profound reminder of what is so lacking in politics today: intelligence.

Thanks for the visual.Mike. Just a mere 49 YEARS ago! Maybe what could have been. Gone too soon at the time…but not.

I was but a twinkle in Mom’s eye when he was killed. I have always had a fascination with him and his life and have done a lot of reading and watching of documentaries of his life.

I was watching it on TV and holding my son, my youngest of 4, and he turned 50 last June. He now has silver hair. Where’d the time go?

“I was out in the yard, taking down the bed sheets, when the neighbor yelled across, ‘The President’s been shot!’. I remember where I was, just exactly where I was, in the yard out back.” – Sondheim, Assassins
