Help solve a hit-and-run: Reward offered in White Center case

We’ve been covering this story since night before last on partner site White Center Now, when several people sent tips about the crash and resulting traffic trouble – but now investigators are casting a wider net in trying to solve the hit and run (16th/106th) that sent a developmentally disabled man to the hospital, where deputies say he remains in critical condition. If you have any leads on a vehicle that might fit the description above, a $1,000 reward is offered, and 911 will take your tip.

Is there a fund to help him out with medical expenses?

Would the traffic cameras in this area have picked up this vehicle going through any intersections around that time? There’s a traffic cam at 107th. Not sure if it’s recorded or not though.

Who was it that offered arrest? Didn’t you mean ‘Reward?’

there’s a special place in hell for someone who would run someone down in a crosswalk and just leave them lying there and leave the scene. I hope this guy recovers . This is so sad :(

We know Jeff! He is a great guy and regular customer at Giannoni’s and frequent fixture at Westwood Village. We will keep him in our prayers for a speedy recovery!

My cousin was the vicitm of a hit and run while in a crosswalk in Bellingham recently. She doesn’t have insurance and was told that she will be covered by some sort of crime victims fund, hopefully this case will have the same result…no one should have too pay medical expenses for something like this! My prayers are with Jeff for a full and fast recovery

I am guessing the person who hit this poor man has outstanding warrants and of course no insurance. LOSER!
I hope this guys pulls through.

I’ve been hit twice on Delridge, I’m tired of the speeders on the arterial, yet they have a stupid speed camera on Admiral where only a few houses and nearly no pedestrians are present.

We sincerely hope Jeff recovers fully and quickly from his injuries. We like Jeff, who comes in to our store almost daily. Just before the accident he had been in and bought a game for his game system. If there are any more of the posters about the accident, please drop one off at the Pawn X-Change and the other businesses that don’t have one yet. Has anyone left any at the local bars in the area? The driver that hit him needs to be nailed and locked up for a long time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff a couple months ago. He shops at the local QFC with his uncle. I work in the bank in the store. Jeff was a regular visitor after our first meeting. He has a contagious smile and a very open, warm personality. He quickly remembered my name as well as the name of my peers. When I first watched the story it brought a tear to my eye. How could someone hit this wonderful man and then just drive off. This is no person this is a monster. If he could do this to him he could easily do this to anyone. If there is anything we could do for Jeff or his family plse do not hesitate to ask!!!

Any updates on how Jeff’s doing? Our thoughts & prayers are with him

Good question. Privacy laws will likely make it impossible to get any info from the hospital but I do have one source with whom I can check – TR

Dang, I always see Jeff at Mariner games and ride the bus home sometimes. He is an avid fan. I hope he gets better.

Sorry, comment time is over.
