West Seattle Crime Watch: Car theft; car prowlers; robbery pleas

Three items in West Seattle Crime Watch this afternoon, starting with a stolen car to watch for. From Basil:

My 1984 Subaru 4WD wagon, (license plate) # 860SEP, light blue, with freshly painted white spoked rims and front bumper guard, was stolen from in front of my house this a.m. I live in the 5000 block of SW Olga St. If anyone sees it in the area please call the police (911).

After the jump – a WSB Forums member’s report of car prowling reported to police early today (and what happened when police responded), plus arraignment for two of the suspects in last month’s medical-marijuana-dispensary heist:

From the Forums: ‘MousePotato‘ reports a car prowler early this am, working an alley in the 9400 block of 34th SW. Police were called – and responded fast. No arrest, though. Full story here.

And two suspects have returned to court in connection with the robbery that led to this scene along California SW on March 19:

WSB was there as police were still making what ultimately turned out to be three arrests the night of the heist at the G.A.M.E. Collective medical-marijuana dispensary in the 5400 block of California SW.

Two days later, the story of the robbery was told in probable-cause documents, as the suspects made initial court appearances; a few days after that, they were charged. Today, the two oldest suspects were arraigned. From the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office “Daily Docket”:

Donshae D. Sims, 24, and Malik D. Heckard, 16, were arraigned this morning and pleaded not guilty to charges of Robbery First Degree, Burglary First Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Second Degree for allegedly robbing a medical-marijuana dispensary in West Seattle on March 19. A case setting hearing is scheduled for April 18 in Kent. The third defendant, who is 15, is charged in Juvenile Court. He will have a case setting hearing on April 14 in Juvenile Court. All three defendants remain in custody.

Hello, I just moved to sw myrtle street ( gatewood neighborhood). On Saturday afternoon a light skinned black male came to my door. Provided bogus id that stated “independent sales rep” on it. I opened the main door but not the glass door. He started talking frantically about how he is a sales trainee etc but he never mentioned what he was selling… I told him I am not interested and he left. He skipped my neighbour’s house. He was very suspicious. The incident made me very nervous and uncomfortable. Sine then we have installed an alarm system and I am planning on getting a sign that states video surveillance as well. Just wanted to report this in case you see this person around.

Anyone know what happened to the pedestrian signal at Fauntleroy/Avalon – across from the Starbuck’s? It was lying there flattened when I went by this morning. This is an important signal for peds! Scary to think some driver wasn’t paying attention there (again).

Hey Al – I don’t know what happened to it but we just ran thru there to have a look and a DOT truck is on scene. So here’s hoping it’ll be fixed soon. – TR
