I live (in the 7400 block of) 27th Ave SW. I have lost my 8 year old male neutered cat named D-O-G. He comes when you spell it out not if you call dog. He is white with big orange spots and he also has a orange reflective collar with a bell attached. I last saw him on Wednesday morning sleeping on the chair. Joanne 206-650-2456
What a beautiful cat. One of mine lays the same way, we say he’s doing his Pilates when he doing that!
Hope you find D-O-G
Any luck on finding D-O-G?
If you need any advice or assistance, please let me know.
Have you been calling the Seattle Animal Shelter lost/found line? 206-386-7387
Make sure you go in person and fill out the forms, and look in person.
Some advice:
Put his dirty litter outside, the smell will travel and help guide him if he needs it. Also, put an article of your clothing out.
With the coyotes and other critters, food is not recommended. Does your cat have a way to get inside if they do come back? Make sure there is a safe place to hang out.
There are also some great tips here…

Sending compassion, and good thoughts.
Go home D-O-G!

Hi Lisa:
Thank you so much for reaching out to me. I have done everything I could possibly do and all that you suggested. Our neighborhood is over whelmed with coyotes. They are not afraid to come in our yards and stare you down. Channel 5 did a story on them featuring our block. The city tells us there isn’t anything they can do. With every new housing development it crowds the coyotes and pushes them closer to us. In our block alone 5 cats have disappeared in the last year. I look for him everyday, walking as far back in the wooded area that I can safely. His normal territory was within a 3 house range. He made his rounds to each of the houses, he also had warm places with blankets to hide and sleep in my neighbors yards. We haven’t an alley behind my house and in searching for him we found a den in the bushes where the coyotes have used to sleep. I pray he comes home.
Again Thank you for reaching out and caring
Joanne
Sorry, you say the city says there isn’t anything they can do, but there is something cat owners can do, keep their cats inside. The warning was there–“5 cats have disappeared in the last year” on your block alone. Sorry, delete my post if you must…
No I won’t delete your post. We are all entitled to our own opinion. I choose to take it as a positive I hope you have a great evening.
Hi Joanne,
Take a look at missing pet partnership’s website. If you cat is indoor/outdoor, he may displaced or shut in somewhere.

Hi Teri,
Thank you for the web sites. I borrowed a trap from my vet and I have put his sister in it. I had it where they layed together by the wood pile. They were mostly indoor cats, they both liked to go outside when I let my 3 poodles and black lab out. I had just put my lab to sleep after 15 years, DOG always slept with him. My back yard has a 10 foot chain link fence and they also have a 5 foot fence to help keep them safe and to keep them closer to the back door. DOG thought he was a dog hence his name. He would climb the fence when my neighbor came home from fishing or clam digging to get a snack. Then sun himself by the wood pile. I think that since Bear was gone the coyotes became braver over the next 2 days since the normal warning bark was gone. I went to school and left the window open so they could go out and 4 hours later when I came home to check on them he was gone. According to the city we are part of the Denny Creek greenbelt so they are considered protected. Iggy his sister is lost without him and is just starting to really eat again.
Again thank you for the information and help.
Joanne
Joanne,
My heart aches for you, I lost my Diesel in December and he never returned. It is so difficult not knowing. My other cats were lost and distraught for quite sometime, looking for him and smelling. I am still hoping and praying for a positive outcome for you.
With blessings…
Lisa
A very long time ago one of my cats never came home and all of a sudden 6 months later I hear this meow at the front door….it was him!!!! He smelled of chimney soot and was a few pounds lighter but it was him so don’t give up hope Joanne and Lisa B.
Back then though there weren’t coyotes around least I don’t think there was.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I’ll never give up hope and I will always listen and look for him..
