KevinParticipantI have an out of town friend visiting this weekend – 2/12 – 2/14 and this individual has a lot of dietary restrictions. This individual has requested that they don’t care where we go out to eat as long as they “can get a GOOD salad.”
.
I don’t eat salad, so I thought I would solicit suggestions from some of the experienced foodies out there. Thank you.

pamMemberI like the salads at Elliott Bay – very consistent, good variety.

cclarueMember2nd ebb the blackened salmon was one of the best .
February 11, 2011 at 5:34 am #717167
JustSarahParticipantI also love Elliott Bay Brewery’s salads. Some are a bit cheese-heavy, though. And I’m still sad they no longer offer the brewery blues salad. :-(

inactiveMemberBeef Salad at Buddha Ruska – charbroiled beef with a magical dressing. Slurp!
Gyro’s salad at Olympia Pizza on Delridge.

ericakMemberseared goat cheese salad at Elliott Bay Brewery is amazing – I am not of fan of beets, so I usually ask to leave them out. I also love the house italian salad at Talarico’s – it is simple and good!

redblackParticipantthe caesar salad at talarico’s is very nice. big leaves of romaine, thin shards of parmesan, tangy dressing. and i think they’ll add chicken on request, but i could be confusing them with another restaurant. and it’s a happy hour item.
their house salad is solid, but maybe not memorable.
and if i recall correctly, they also have a good blue cheese/iceburg wedge salad.
February 11, 2011 at 2:25 pm #717171
SmittyParticipantI agree with redblack on Talarico’s. For some reason their simple blue cheese wedge salad just hits the spot for me. It goes well with that huge “south side” slice and a couple of Stella’s!

sam-cParticipantanother vote for EBB. I love their quinoa garbanzo salad; the salad has a little kick to it.
February 11, 2011 at 3:20 pm #717173
WSLiferParticipantCirca! The steak salad is excellent and the chicken BBQ salad is really great too.
February 11, 2011 at 3:48 pm #717174
TDeParticipantI second the steak salad at Circa. Love it! Couldn’t get into Circa on a weekend night recently though, because of the crowd, so decided to try The Highstrike Grill. I was pleasantly surprised at how good their steak salad was.

B-squaredParticipantI third the steak salad at Circa!! Every time i go there i tell myself that i will try something else, but it’s the steak salad that end up in front of me.

LeftWingMemberTalarico’s tosses a MEAN salad!
February 11, 2011 at 4:27 pm #717178
CMPParticipantMet Market has good salads to go. And I love the chicken fajita salad at Elliott Bay…Mission also has some good ones.
February 11, 2011 at 4:28 pm #717179
AlkiKmacParticipantAll the salads at Pegasus are good (I favor their Greek salad). Also, the Cobb salad st Bamboo is killer!
February 11, 2011 at 4:33 pm #717180
CMPParticipantOh, the Greek salad at Kokora’s is delicious. How could I forget that? Get it to go and head over to Beveridge for a drink.
February 11, 2011 at 4:36 pm #717181
JustSarahParticipantCMP, I was just about to post the same thing! AlkiKMac’s post reminded me. Really, any of the salads at Kokoras are wonderful: Greek salad, gyros salad, falafel salad, village salata… ooh, now I have a craving.
February 11, 2011 at 5:58 pm #717182
inactiveMemberGood to know about the Bamboo Grill Cobb…always on the hunt for a good one!
February 11, 2011 at 6:34 pm #717183
WSLiferParticipantOh, and one more thing about Circa. If you go there you can order their sweet potato fries (it’s ok, you’re having a salad)! Best.Fries.Ever.

DeanaMemberDukes – Steak Salad ( includes a beautiful view of Alki )
Pagliacci – Paggliacio Salad. ( Fast food/delivery option )
Korokas – Greek Salad ( yum )
Now I am off to try the Circa – Steak Salad everyone is raving about.
February 11, 2011 at 6:41 pm #717185
KimberleyParticipantKokoras, I’m melting just thinking of the tasty salad goodness. The salad bar at Met Market has tasty ceasars (in my opinion the best). Celtic Swell has terrible salads.
February 11, 2011 at 6:45 pm #717186
AimParticipantEBB’s salads are delicious and unique.
Alki Cafe used to have some of the best seafood salads I’ve ever tasted, as well as a creative chicken-apple-walnut salad that would blow your mind. I haven’t been there since the ownership change, though, so am not sure if they still have them. Does anyone else know?
February 11, 2011 at 7:36 pm #717187
dhgParticipantBlue Willow (lunch only) but they make very nice large plates of healthy greens.
February 11, 2011 at 8:49 pm #717188
biankatParticipantI either get the Cobb with blue cheese dressing at EBB (ask them to go easy on the cheese) or the House Salad at Talarico’s with blue cheese dressing. Husband loves Talarico’s Caesar. Seem to recall Jak’s Steak Salad being pretty yum.
