Long story short: got in a fight with gravity, gravity won. My knee may never be the same. :( While waiting for the vagaries of the modern healthcare system to get me some real help, I need a pair of crutches, and will probably need them after I get in to a doc anyway. Bartell’s doesn’t have them. Any suggestions?

herongrrl – I think Rite Aid has them. If you don’t want to buy a pair, I have some you can borrow. I think they’re adjustable, if not then you must be short like me. :) PM me for info if you want to borrow them.

The little pharmacy right up from Rite Aid on California has crutches for sale and for rent. I can’t recall the name at this very moment??? Is it West Seattle Parmacy??? Anyways I got a pair of crutches there a few months back. Support the little peeps :-)

I actually just saw probably a dozen pairs at the Goodwill in the North end of Burien just the other day.

Herongrrrl: we have a pair that you can have! They are adjustable aluminum ones.

We got them free from someone on the WSB forums & would be happy to pass them on to you now that they are no longer needed.

Please PM us if you would like them!

Thank you so much! I accepted JenV’s offer to borrow and now can happily tool around the house on three legs. Much better than lying on the couch fretting about what needs to get done!

herongrrrl: First, feel better soon!! But second, once you get to the point where you no longer need crutches, if you still need a bit of support, I’ve got about 4 canes — and luckily enough haven’t needed them this year (knock on wood!!)

You are more than welcome to borrow one.
