ARCjobsParticipantThe Tween Camp Counselor at Hiawatha Community Center will help implement an engaging, exciting, and educational Tween After School program for kids ages 11-13 years old. Responsibilities include overseeing daily activities, as well as ensuring regular communication with parents about the youth and the program activities.
Schedule:
•Monday – Friday 2:30pm – 6:00pm
•Opportunity for 25-30 hours per week for Tween Summer Day Camp (June through August)
Our Counselors:
•Organize and lead programs and activities to tween youth such as: arts and crafts, organized games, cultural activities, sports, field trips, and other special projects and events
•Work with other staff to ensure the care and safety of participants at all times
•Assist in developing a good relationship with families
•Must be willing to complete training for certification in First Aid/CPR, Food Handlers Permit, HIV/AIDS blood-borne pathogens education
•Responsible for various other duties as assigned
Requirements:
•Eighteen years of age or older
•High School diploma/GED or transcripts of secondary education
•At least one year experience working with tween youth
•Ability to work with diverse populations
•Experience with large groups on field trips is preferred
•Ability to commit to the full school year schedule is strongly preferred
•Current First Aid, CPR, and Food Handlers permit a plus
•Must pass criminal background check
•Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the US and valid government issued ID
•Must sign up for direct deposit with either checking or savings account or Payroll Paycard
This is a part-time, non-benefited position.
