    are they serious?

As I told a friend, the first woman commenter probably pays someone to take a crap for her, since heaven knows she’s not like the rest of us…

how offensive is this? it’s off the hook for me…

What’s even more offensive is the fact that there are still hundreds of people who look to MSNBC as a legitimate news source! (And the fact the Rev’n Al still has a job is laughable.)

Now they are doing reenactments of comments some supporters made at a Romney fund raiser?

JanS, even you don’t take that seriously do you?

Not particularly offensive, but listening to Al Sharpton’s unmodulated voice does give me a headache.

Echoing JV’s remarks . . . this certainly isn’t legitimate news coverage. To be that, the cameras would have to be inside the room at the Romney fundraiser and we would have to see the actual speakers as they made their comments. (And that’s after you filter out all the OTHER media biases that come into play.) Failing that, it’s anyone’s guess as to how authentic these comments are or even what the speakers meant by them.

This might have worked as satire in the hands of a Stephen Colbert or Dave Chappelle. But as it stands it’s not even that. Ugh. I feel that this type of “political analysis” moves us away from being able to see issues clearly and thereby make an informed decision. To say nothing of what it does to the state of political discourse generally.

Yes, Republicans are guilty of this, too.

A pox on both their mansions.

Wow, that woman sounds just about right to me. Across the spectrum, most folks just don’t get it. On many levels. For one thing, most still think their vote counts; they think they are selecting from two polar opposites. Ha ha, the biggest joke’s on us!

I’m a low income person, I just don’t ever call myself ‘poor’. I DO hope everyone thinks that MY “they-don’t-get-it” thoughts More Valid than Her Richiness’s thoughts, especially because I’m a poor & pitiful peasant. That would be fair, huh? Sho’ nuff.

By the way, I gots to wonder how many ppl here know some ‘regular folk’ who use a hairdresser, or use babysitters? Any commoner you know who goes to a nail salon, or gets they lawn mowed? Is Ms. Richy so hateful for also using them?

Yep, I think most folk don’t get it. Common and uncommon, most Americans if tested would fail exams on sovereign debt, capital economies, fiscal limits, balancing a budget, and so much more really critical stuff. Here’s a nice quote from Mark Twain, one of our American Truth-seekers:

“In religion and politics people’s beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.”

I just saw that on MSNBC in the last hour.

That and the other comments on Rmoney’s fundraiser, gave me an idea for a political cartoon.

This is just off the top of my head, and would need some refinement.

But, basically, it would be someone, perhaps this woman, passing by a homeless person on the street, “flying a sign”.

The woman, in this case, would make some snide comment about the homeless dude, as she’s on her way into a fundraiser—for a billionaire.

aww fer fu*k’s sake. I didn’t say it was a damned news story. However…at the 50K a plate dinner, it shows the attitude of Romney supporters, who he doesn’t seem to mind rubbing elbows with.

You can give me crap, JV, while knocking MSNBC…do you actually agree with this woman, and those like her? And your news sources, pray tell?

You missed the point entirely, and I’m not surprised one bit.

I’m surprised Kootch hasn’t been on here to call me naive and uninformed.

Of, course, they all just made this up…why wouldn’t I think that from the get go? (my sarcasm is getting the best of me…apologies)

we all use hairdressers, etc, from time to time…but we don’t look down on them as if they were lesser people than us, thank you very much

so it seems as if the complaints of the comments so far – blame the messenger – MSNBC. Now I also blame the messenger at times – Faux news – but I try to present a counter argument – with stats as a basis.

But here, basically its MSNBC, so no need to discuss. That is what has been presented here… no counter argument, no data to prove otherwise.

50K for a dinner plate fundraiser, any dispute to that?

meg, a question…do you really think we should all start staying away from voting..just simply quit doing it, because “our vote doesn’t count”, and never will? Where will that get us?

Kootch is a Republican conservative, therefore he is anti-intellectual.

I cannot be related to him, as I place a high value on intellectual knowledge and I pursue my own self-education. Therefore… I must be a Liberal Democrat.

    LOLs and ;)

Still can;t get the kootchman off your mind eh? Sorta marinates all day until ya just can’t resist. ” I gotta get a reaction he just has to pay attention” Let me talk abut him in multiple posts, then cry boo hoo hoo when he rsvp in kind and oh “my hero” miws will affirm how wonderful I am, defender of my honor ..how cute… that the music sheet?. Let’s play this out, GE is Obama’s corporate welfare queen. everything from windmill subsidies, to mortgage lenders, and as it happens, owners of MSNBc.. etc.. head of his employment council which id doing s sterling job… 8.2 per cent and we still haven’t had the downward adjustment that usually takes two or three weeks. Sadly your vote does count. How did you post it? “no one is telling me what’s in for me”? touche’

wow..now there are two huge egos on here – lolol. No, don’t flatter yourself, I did not think about you all day long.

And, my question about voting was for Meg, not for you, I don’t believe…hmm…let me look…yes, I distinctly said her name, directed it at her in that post. Sorry.

Mike “my hero”? NO…Mike is a good guy, a good friend, and way more pleasurable to speak with than the likes of you…no offense, of course. And no offense to those who regard you as “professorial”….

I don’t believe Obama was mentioned in this thread…can anyone back me up on that? Or am I just imagining.?

Meg still hasn’t answered the question about voting – thought her answer would be insightful, since she thinks most of us are ill informed (seems like you included, Mr. KMan), and are incapable of really making any kind of intelligent thought or decision.

Yes, Jan. I do. Insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results. We don’t need ‘change’ we need a radical shift. Mull it over. I did.

so if we all stop voting , who will do the deciding for us? And what if we disagree with those choices? We just have to eat it? Seriously? Or will the deciding be left up to Meg, who professes to be more informed than the lot of us? Do you ever consider that you just might be wrong about some things?

Not like you … right about everything? Did you ever consider based upon evidentiary readings, commentary, that an opinion is just as valid as a Mother Jones, or MSNBC editorial…? Slow down.. sheep crossing ahead.

    You now what?

I’ll bet I could go back through some of these political threads, and find that kootch basically started the name calling crap, and other disrespectful stuff, and that Jan, JoB, myself, and others, put up with it quite for quite awhile, before pushing back.

    Typical bully behavior.

Typical behavior of many, but not all on the right.

Look at all of the Libertarpublican politicians that use bullying tactics.

Look at that worthless cigar sucker Rush Limbaugh that uses bullying tactics.

Are these people so miserable in their own G-D lives, that they have to bully others, to make them feel big and strong?

    Jan’s hero? Hell no.

I’m nobody’s hero, and nobody is mine.

But like Jan said, we are friends, and will defend each other when we feel one of us is being bullied, even though we full well realize that the other is fully capable of standing up for themselves.

It’s what real friendship is all about.

It’s about getting pissed off, and offended, when we see our friends being called names, and be condescended to.

    It Ain’t “Boo hoo hoo”.

Boo hoo hoo, is when the tables are turned on the bully, and he goes running home to mommy.

what we all say on here , Kman, is opinion. That and a buck will get you a half cup of coffee these days. I have never said my way is the only right way, I have never talked down to anyone on here, I have never belittled anyone on here. I try to not make it personal, unlike some people. As TR, the editor says, make a comment about what is said, not about who made the comment. If I have gotten too personal to anyone on here, I apologize.

Actually, the political threads are getting fairly boring now…we just keep hearing the same old record over and over..Obama bad…hard to carry on an intelligent give and take when most is dismissed…

If you don’t understand the difference between overt and covert, then look it up. I’m not here to argue with you but just want to point out that absolute statements like “I have never……” are open to opposite interpretation by the posters whose opinions you oppose. End of story!!!

    covert? overt?

how about some subtlety for a change?
