Five Corners 24 hour Emergency Animal Hospital in Burien.

Brilliant, wonderful, fantastic, excellent, and superb.

Someone on Lincoln Park Way who couldn’t be bothered to do the speed limit on our residential street, ran over our dear cat. Mashed him well. He managed to crawl home and I frantically began googling for emergency animal hospitals nearby.

We sped him to 5 Corners Animal Hospital late at night. Immediately upon arrival they rushed him into surgery, put him on life support, and patched his poor pieces together. He was touch and go for a couple of days. His internal organs were damaged, his rear leg was crushed, many of his ribs were fractured/broken.

But they saved him! They called every day with updates, they did everything possible to rescue his life and they succeeded. The glorious Dr. Cuthbert is my hero.

He is still in a leg cast, his ribs are recovering, and he’s getting along well considering the kind of damage that was inflicted. Even they can’t believe how well the cat is recovering from such serious destruction.

So love and kisses to Five Corners Emergency Animal Hospital, Dr. Cuthbert, and all the veterinary staff who pitched in.

In the sad event that any other west Seattle-ites are in need of immediate emergency vet care, here is the contact information:

i also rave for this hospital! my neighbors dog was seriously burned by one of those bark collars (poor guy was electrocuted while drinking water…but thats another story)anyways they franticly drove the dog up to 5 corners in the middle of the night, there 200 pound mastiff was bearly breathing and gushing blood from the neck. Not only did the doctors bring the dog back to life, patch up his neck, help write a letter to Petco for selling a faulty bark collar, but they also was told right when the dog was brought in that the couple was unable to pay in full at that time for the surgery and medications, the doctor said first things first lets save the dog, then worry about the bill later, my neighbors were both in tears and couldnt believe how nice the doctors and hospital was!

Echo above sentiments. We took one of our dogs there late last year. They were AMAZING. Compassionate, sensitive, truthful.

Thanks — we, too, haven’t needed such services (yet) but I’ve copied the info into my electronic and paper directories so I’ll be able to find them right away if and when. (And I’m very glad to hear that you’re kitty is doing well!)

I’m so glad your kitty is doing better! I have their info in my PDA and on my fridge in case I ever needed it for my kitty, but thankfully haven’t (so far). I’m glad you had a good experience. When I started going to Lien I asked them if they had a place to recommend in case I ever needed it, and that’s who they suggested.

Nothing wrong with west Seattle vets. They were closed, it was nearly 10PM.

We took the cat to the nearest >>24 hour animal emergency hospital<<

We felt lucky there was even such a hospital in the area. Had we waited till the next day when nearby animal hospitals opened for business, the cat likely would not have survived.

So great to hear that your kitty is ok!! That story almost made me cry, I love my babies and I would hate for them to go through that…but I know where I would take them now if I needed to.

Also, for anyone else out there, DO NOT take your pets to the Emerald City Emergency Vet in Wallingford – they are not good at all, very insensitive about your pets, very insensitive about your financial situation and really wacky with some of their diagnoses.

5 Corners is great, as is the Emergency clinic on Stone Way near Greenlake.

Since the topic of this is “Emergency Animal Hospital”, I also wanted to post a quick RAVE for ACCESS. Animal Critical Care and Emergency Services, on Lake City Way. Guido, my 10 year old Jack Russell had what appeared to be a seizure around 5:30AM on Saturday morning. It was one of the scariest and worst moments ever. Since I had been to this place before and had a positive experience, we wrapped him up in a blanket and took off. We got there in 20 minutes, and honestly I wasn’t speeding more than 5-10 MPH over (which I rarely do). They took great care of him, ran several tests, and got him stable. I am not sure how long it takes to get to the Burien vet, and I know it would take a lot longer to get to Lake City had there been traffic.

Yes, 5 Corners is great. We had to put down our cat last year on a Saturday night after a sudden illness and they were kind, compassionate and very nice. I won’t hesitate to recommend them for any pet emergency.

JanS – Thanks. Yes, he is okay. They have no clue what caused it. They ran 3 EEGs, an ultrasound, and a bunch of lab work, everything came back fine. If it happens again though we are supposed to take him to a neurologist.
