I am a single mother. I am attending Grad school so that I can create a better life for my daughter and myself. I am seeking more than just a roof over my head, I want to create a nurturing home. I am searching for a reasonably priced small house or apartment. I desire to live in West Seattle so that my daughter can experience all the beauty and benefits of such a warm and friendly community. My parents live in the 98116 district. I would like to be close to them so that they can assist with after school care.

PatriciaB, are you looking to rent or buy?

Not sure what you consider “reasonably priced” for either, but there is a rental of a duplex on the corner of Dawson/Fauntleroy for (I believe) $1300/month, and there is a small house for sale (newly refurbished, in front of townhomes) for a little less than $300k (last I looked) close to that same intersection, just north of Dawson on the east side of Fauntleroy.

that is an incredible rental next to walking trails and less than 5 blocks to the local library.

the landlord built the unit and lives next door and it is very well done.

if it had a larger bathtub or anyplace to put a hot tub, i would be living there now in spite of the 3 floors.

and. they have a wonderful daughter who is a ray of sunshine…

if you can afford it, i can’t recommend it enough.
