Oh, I wish. I can’t come though. this is the time of year when our extended family come from far away places such as Portland, and Eugene. :)

JanS – my husband and I used to cater a couple of nights a year for his showroom in Atlanta and one year he decided to make rum balls…

When he went to make them the only rum we had in the house was 151 and although the recipe called for 1/3 cup of rum they were just to dry so he kept adding more and ended up using the whole bottle. We labeled them “Atomic Rum Balls” and warned everyone that reached for one!

Customers came back the next year looking for the rum balls. :)

I can vouch that Ellen’s rum balls were awesome! Definately not too much rum… it gave them a good kick. The honey and toasted pecans really did the trick – they had a perfect consistency.

    Atomic rum balls? Yes please!

You guys inspired me to make some too! I used Myer’s dark rum and shortbread cookies, DELICIOUS!!! They get better as they sit, too.

I’ve heard that the best Rum Balls are from South Seattle Community College’s bakery. Yumm!
