RobindianneParticipantAnyone taken any good cooking classes you can recommend? Hubby and I want to be less recipe-oriented and have some fun cooking.

WSBKeymasterHave you already been through the PCC catalog?

IrukandjiParticipantWe have enjoyed many of the Bon Vivant classes, though we’ve avoided classes with Louise Hasson. Serious lack of a sense of humor. Other teaching chefs have been fantastic.

RobindianneParticipantThank you both.
Looked at PCC a long time ago but will again. I did see the bon vivant classes but the basic cooking series is by . . . Louise Hasson. Mm. We also looked at http://www.cooksworld.net/ for the “basics for busy people”. I’m looking for some kind of series for basic (instinct-ish?) cooking. We always use cookbooks or go out. Need to start cooking together at home (save money on meals, date nights, etc).

MargLMemberI was going to suggest Cook’s World! Yes, Nancy is great! I took the knife skills class and the basics of cooking classes and had a great time! It’s hands on, you get to eat what is cooked and you get a discount if you buy things in the kitchen store the night of the class. Also love their make-up policy so if you miss a class you can come back when it’s offered again.

TammiWSMemberI also took classes at Cooksworld – basic cooking, basic baking (both were 5 sessions each), the knife skills class and a cocktail making class. All were great. The classes are up by U Village.

kellymParticipantI’ve taken a basic series from Louise Hasson…perhaps she’s not the galloping gourmet, but I learned a lot of basic techniques that are invaluable to lay a good foundation for fun off the cuff cooking…

RobindianneParticipantOooh. Thank you all. Sounds like we could do any of these. Looking forward to it!
